Below is an animated video that illustrates how inflammation of the smooth muscle lining can contribute to chronic health conditions. It
uses the metaphor of a diseased tree transforming into a healthy one to represent the process.

Dos and Don’ts before taking herbal medicine

It's important to approach any health issue with caution and careful consideration, especially when deciding
whether to use herbal medicine. Here’s a clear framework for making that decision:

If you're experiencing a new or unexplained health issue, such as heartburn or chest pain, the first step should always be to rule out any serious or life-threatening conditions. For example, chest pain could be a sign of heart issues, so it's crucial to seek medical attention from your healthcare provider or GP to ensure that the problem is not something critical. Advances in medical science have made it easier to diagnose serious conditions, so take advantage of that.

Once you’ve ruled out serious conditions, you can assess your health issue more safely. If your symptoms are mild and you're confident they are not linked to a life-threatening issue, you can start thinking about treatment options.

After ruling out serious conditions, you have the choice of whether to pursue conventional medicine or natural remedies. Conventional medicine, prescribed by a doctor, may be necessary in some cases, especially for more severe issues. If you are considering herbal remedies, remember that they are typically they take longer to get into the system and to work. Your herbalist can work with conventional medicine.

While watching videos or reading online tips can be tempting, it's important to be cautious. What works for one person may not be safe or effective for you, especially when medications or supplements might interact with your existing treatments. Don't self-medicate based on general advice found on the internet.

A wholistic therapist is fully present with the patient, giving undivided attention without distractions. They actively listen, observe, and engage without focusing on notes or screens. This complete attention ensures they can understand the patient's needs, free from personal thoughts or judgment. If necessary, they conduct physical exams to identify potential issues before they appear in tests or scans, allowing them to develop an effective treatment plan tailored to the patient.

For generally healthy individuals with mild issues, over-the-counter herbal remedies may be an option. Try them for few months, if symptoms persist or worsen, seek professional advice.
